First paragraph: It is well known that the professions involving terminology are many and varied, and that each one of them requires terminology in order to perform its different tasks. Thus, technical scientific writers (be they specialists or linguistic mediators) need terminology to produce their texts adequately, and documentalists in order to construct comprehensive thesauruses and to contribute to efficient information access.
